Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 2026
This policy explains how PIGEO handles your personal data when you use the service.
1. Who we are
PIGEO is a time-locked messaging service: you write a text, voice, photo or video message, choose a recipient phone number and a timer (from zero to one year). The message stays sealed until the timer runs out.
2. Data we collect
To create your account we collect your phone number (which identifies your account and message recipients), your email, your password (stored only as a secure hash), your chosen username and optional profile photo. When you sync your contacts we only receive anonymous fingerprints (SHA-256 hashes) of the numbers, never the numbers themselves. With PIGEO Nearby we receive your approximate location (rounded to about 1 km), kept for a limited time. We store sent and received messages for delivery.
3. How we use your data
We use your data only to run the service: delivering messages to the right recipient, showing contacts already on PIGEO, managing invites, powering Nearby and protecting accounts. We never sell your data and we don't use it for advertising.
4. Encryption and security
Message content is encrypted: nobody, not even PIGEO, can read it before the timer expires. Phone numbers are never shown to other users and message senders stay anonymous. Data is protected with access controls and secure connections.
5. Sharing
We only share data with technical providers (such as email and database providers) that help us run the service and process data according to our instructions. We never sell or rent your data.
6. Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it or to delete it at any time by writing to the address listed in the Terms of Service.
7. Changes
If we change this policy, we will update this page with a new last-updated date.
